Your Mission
As Team Lead – Electric Design Engineering, you will lead the electrical engineering activities for European customization options and special application machines.
You will ensure seamless integration of electrical systems, machine interfaces, and third-party technologies—from early concept definition through to production readiness and start of sales.
In this role, you combine technical leadership with hands-on system engineering, ensuring robust, safe, and future-proof electrical solutions that meet both EU regulations and Hitachi global standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the electrical design and system integration of European customization solutions for construction machinery
- Develop electrical architectures, wiring harnesses, schematics, interface definitions, and power/control integration concepts
- Drive electrical engineering activities across the full development cycle: requirements, concept design, detailed engineering, prototyping, validation, and release
- Collaborate closely with Hydraulic, Mechanical, and Industrialization teams to ensure fully integrated machine performance
- Act as the technical focal point for electrical engineering within cross-functional and international alignment meetings
- Ensure electrical designs meet requirements for safety, EMC, reliability, serviceability, and manufacturability
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical decision-making during prototype and validation phases
- Work with internal stakeholders and external suppliers on integration requirements and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with EU regulations, machine standards, and Hitachi global engineering requirements
- Contribute to design reviews, test planning, engineering changes, and readiness for start of sales
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
- Several years of experience in electrical system design and integration, preferably in construction machinery, off-highway, automotive, or industrial equipment
- Strong understanding of machine electrical systems, harness design, control interfaces, diagnostics, and system integration
- Experience with integration of third-party electrical or electronic systems is a strong advantage
- Proven experience leading engineering projects or technical teams in a cross-functional environment
- Familiarity with prototype builds, electrical testing, EMC considerations, and product validation
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset with strong ownership
- Ability to work effectively in an international matrix organization with stakeholders across Europe and Japan
- Genuine interest in Hitachi products and advanced machine systems
What We Offer
- Compensation built of a yearly gross salary between €70,000and €102,500 (including holiday allowance and based on experience) + a guaranteed bonus (4%)
