As Mining Technical Support Engineer, you provide expert technical guidance and support to our dealers and customers, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our mining equipment.
Our Mining Product Support team is an integral part of HCME, dedicated to ensuring the highest levels of technical support and service for our mining machinery. This compact, dynamic team is known for its technical expertise, collaborative spirit, and innovative approach to problem-solving. Support safe operation of mining equipment with a strong focus on machine availability and minimizing unplanned downtime.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to dealers and customers, contributing to high levels of customer satisfaction.
Actively participate in the assembly, commissioning, and start-up of mining machines.
Ensure machines meet operational standards for performance, efficiency, and safety.
Engage in field troubleshooting activities together with dealer technicians.
Initiate immediate containment and problem-solving actions, escalating issues when required.
Perform root cause analysis on complex technical issues and contribute to long-term product reliability improvements.
Analyse and resolve warranty and technical claims in close collaboration with dealers and internal stakeholders.
Provide structured technical feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams to support continuous product improvement.
The role includes frequent business travel and on-site work with dealers across Europe and North West Africa, as well as regular presence at the HCME office in Amsterdam
5+ years of experience in technical support, service engineering, or commissioning of heavy or mining equipment.
Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience with mining machinery.
Ability to work independently in complex, high-pressure field environments.
Structured, analytical problem-solving mindset with a strong focus on root cause analysis.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
Solid technical and analytical skills, including experience with diagnostic tools and software relevant to mining machinery.
Customer-oriented mindset focused on machine availability, reliability, and long-term customer satisfaction.
Proficient English, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in French is an advantage.
Knowledge of High Voltage systems and related safety procedures.
Experience with electrically driven mining excavators.
Experience with AC drive rigid dump trucks.
Basic understanding of electrical, control, or powertrain systems in mining equipment.
Exposure to commissioning or major component change-outs on large mining machines.
Compensation consists of a yearly gross salary between 52’000 euros and 81’000 euros (including holiday allowance and based on experience) + a guaranteed bonus (4%)
