Payroll Specialist
Location: Amsterdam
The responsibilities:
• Be the main contact between our payroll provider (Exact) and our HR team, making sure all changes in the company are correctly reflected in payroll.
• Check and prepare payroll data every month, including changes like new hires, contract updates, part-time/full-time shifts, etc.
• Review salary slips and reports from the provider, spot any mistakes, and send corrections before final approval.
• Handle monthly payroll tasks like payment requests, tax checks, and closing the payroll period.
• Keep employee data up to date in systems like HR & Salaris Gemak, YouServe, and Saphire (for time, holidays, travel allowance).
• Support both local and expat employees, working with an external partner for expat-related matters.
• Create reports for things like headcount and employee changes, often used by IT and other teams.
• Join the project team for our upcoming switch to SAP SuccessFactors—helping improve and automate payroll processes
Who are we looking for:
• 2–5 years of experience in a payroll or HR administration role.
• A critical eye for spotting errors and incomplete information.
• Good Excel skills—you’ll be working with spreadsheets regularly.
• Basic knowledge of Dutch payroll legislation and social security.
• Fluent level of English.
• Communicative level of Dutch.
• Experience with HR & Salaris Gemak, YouServe, or Visma systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors is helpful, especially as we transition to this system.
• A PDL (Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie) is preferred, but we’re open to experienced candidates without it.
• VPS (Vakopleiding Payroll Services) is not required, but it’s a nice to have.
• Someone with a good eye for detail who can spot mistakes and ask the right questions.
• Comfortable working with numbers, systems, and monthly deadlines.
• Able to communicate clearly with both internal teams and external partners.
• Organized and reliable, especially when handling sensitive data like salaries.
• Open to learning and ready to help improve how we do things, especially during our system upgrade.
